THE INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF “GREEN” WORLDKIDS CAMPUS 5

WorldKids is the International preschool system that particularly cares about the role of facilities in conjunction with the development of children. In addition to advanced curriculum and dedicated staffs, learning environment and facilities also are important factors to invest in. Previously, on March 28, 2018, the Vietnam Green Building Council issued the official LOTUS Small Building Silver Level Certification for the School. Campus 5 is located at 697 Le Trong Tan, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of the preschool projects in Ho Chi Minh City that gained LOTUS Certificate under the consultancy of GreenViet Consulting Company.

Achieving LOTUS certification is the proof of the school's commitment to building a high-quality, safe and comfortable environment for children as well as less harmful to the environment. Right from the design stage, WorldKids Campus 5 project focused on ensuring the comfort for kids and optimizing the use of resources in building and operation. The highlight of this project is the large green space including the green roofs and green walls. The project combines many solutions such as using LED lights for the whole area, high-performance air conditioning, and integrated inverter with significant energy saving benefits. In addition, World Kids Campus 5 also uses solar water heaters. Most materials are recyclable materials. Materials used are also considered appropriate for children health. Interior paints are especially suitable for children, which have very low levels of VOC substances and are easy to clean. Glue is also carefully selected with the low concentration of VOC.

At present, all campuses of the Worldkids International School system have invested in building facilities. The school is committed to bringing a good quality, a clean space with safety standard for children. Worldkids 5 is a Green Building and is completely environmentally friendly.

Campus 5 in Binh Tan District also focuses on space design to ensure comfort and safety for children. Proper use of building materials can reduce the amount of heat absorbed through the roof, onto the floor and then into space. The surrounding design also helps to protect classrooms from external heat radiation, which decreases the temperature difference inside and outside the classroom. At the same time, this design always makes the classroom cool and reduces the investment cost of the cooling system.

The surrounding environment is also planted with many drought-tolerant trees, which does not require too much water. The playground for children is designed to be full of light and natural wind This playground aids well with the school’s education program on environmental protection.
